Ordinary world	The earth and the life of a paraplegic marine who still loves his former job
Call to adventure	He is called to travel to a different planet to replace his dead brother
Refusal to call	He goes a bit uncertain and quickly starts to regret his choice. Everyone treats him badly and he does not like his situation
Meeting with the mentor	At first, Jake does not have a good time with the chief scientist, but as the time passes, they start to understand each other
Crossing the first threshold	Jake finally makes contact with one of the natives, however, he is only thinking about his mission and he knows he is there just to spy and try to convince that people
Tests allies and enemies	Jake starts to become uncertain about his mission and decisions. Now, he starts to question if he is doing the right thing
Entrance in the innermost cave	Jake changes a lot and starts to become more and more familiar with the Na’vi. The moment of love between Neytiri (the native that has accompanied him) and him shows that he has definitely ‘entered the cave’
Seizing the sword	He fights against the humans as they try to destroy part of the forest where he is.
Journey home	As a consequence of his actions, the soldiers end up finding them and taking them to prison (as humans)
Resurrection	They escape and find a isolated place where they can connect back to their avatars
Return with the elixir	Jake comes back with the huge holy bird, which shows that it was his destiny to save the Na’vi
