The text begins giving an introduction about globalization. It talks about how it began, how it has developed over the years, its characteristics and, the pros and cons about it. After the Second World War, there was less protectionism and, technology has quickly grown. These factors lead to a rapid increase in the flow of people, capital and information around the world. Nevertheless, by observing facts and statistics, it is possible to affirm that most of what is said about globalization is actually exaggerated. In most of the sectors of society, there is less integration between countries than there was in the early 20th century. It is believed that with the time, the world is going to become more and more integrated and, globalization more and more irreversible. However, we should not rely on the idea that globalization is going to last forever - economic or political crisis may happen and so, there is still a certain chance of countries to ‘isolate’ themselves.
